Kapur Films International that was later rechristened as Kapur Films came into existence under the farsighted, visionary and inspiring leadership of the late Shri Siri Krishan Kapur (S.K. Kapur) in the year 1965 as a major producer, distributor, exhibitor, and exporter of feature films in India and overseas.

He was born in Lahore in the year 1927 and shifted to Delhi during the partition of India along with his family. He worked in different organisations in various capacities and finally decided to pursue a career and calling in film business. His association with films started with “Around The World”, starring Raj Kapur, Rajshri, & others. Soon, he got into film distribution and exhibition business. He produced his first feature film in 1967.This was just the beginning. He created one of the leading film production and distribution houses of India and produced blockbuster films of different genres, including “Night In London”. This was just the beginning. Kapur Films also acquired perpetual rights of all time classics like “Dil Ek Mandir”, “Dharti”, & “Namoona”.
He was the founding member of the leading film industry associations including IMPPA, IMPDA, NIMPA, CCCA and Film Exporters Association and served on their executive committees until the end. He contributed significantly to the growth and success of the Film Industry.
He passed away in the year 2001 leaving behind a film banner with a rich library of blockbusters.
The late Shri S.K. Kapur was well known in the Indian film industry for his business acumen and ethics, generosity and personal integrity. He is still remembered by the film fraternity for these remarkable and endearing traits.
